Jane’s Addiction, the alternative rock band known for the albums “Ritual de lo Habitual” and “Nothing’s Shocking,” has canceled the remainder of their reunion tour following an onstage altercation over the weekend.

The group announced Monday that it has “made the difficult decision to take a step back as a group.”

“Therefore they are canceling the remainder of the tour,” the band said on their Instagram account.

The fight occurred during the band’s Fright Night show at Boston’s Leader Bank Pavilion. Video footage from the concert shows lead singer Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro yelling at each other during a song, before a brief shoving match culminated in Farrell punching the guitarist.

“Refunds for cancelled dates will be issued at the point of sale,” the band said on Instagram.

People who bought tickets through resale sites like StubHub and SeatGeek should contact those companies. Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery responded to the cancellation in messages posted to their Instagram accounts.

“We deeply regret that we cannot accommodate all of our fans who have already purchased tickets. We see no solution that would ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance every night,” the trio wrote. “Our hearts are broken.”

The tour marked the first time since 2010 that the original members of the Los Angeles band shared the stage multiple times. Daniel Ash, frontman of Love and Rockets and co-headliner of the tour, announced that his band had to cancel their performances as well.

“We would have loved to do the remainder of the tour with Jane’s Addiction, but unfortunately the matter is beyond our control,” Ash wrote in a Facebook post.

Jane’s Addiction were scheduled to end their tour on October 16 in Los Angeles.
