Nov. 21 – BEMIDJI – Jerry Gale, founder of Christians Against Christian Nationalism Minnesota, will present “Understanding and Responding to Christian Nationalism” on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 11:45 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 924 Beltrami Ave NW.
“Christian nationalism attempts to merge Christian and American identities, harming both the Christian faith and American democracy,” a press release said. “It implies that to be a good American, you must be a Christian.”
Gale first became aware of Christian nationalism on January 6, 2021, after seeing images of Christian symbols worn by those who broke into the US Capitol. Shortly afterwards he discovered the website Christians Against Christian Nationalism.
In January 2024, Gale founded the group Christians Against Christian Nationalism Minnesota and is sharing his message throughout the state.
Gale is also a member of Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis.
Sponsors provide a light lunch. A discretionary grant will be accepted to cover meal costs and gas costs for Gale, the news release said.
