Jessica Alba appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Monday night to talk about the next steps in her career. After launching and growing her company The Honest Company, Alba returns to film and entertainment.
To discuss her upcoming film, she sat on Fallon’s couch, wearing a sheer blouse and pencil skirt from Fendi. She paired the top with patent leather pumps of a similar color.
The shoes were classic stiletto pumps from Jimmy Choo. With a heel of almost 10 cm, the shoes form the company’s Love silhouette. The distinguishing aspect is the logo hardware on the rear heel tab.
The stiletto pump is one of the most classic women’s shoes, dating back to the 1950s, when Roger Vivier reportedly created the silhouette. It is characterized as a court-style shoe, covering the toes, sides and back of the foot with a sleek stiletto heel that provides extra height. Most shoe brands have their own versions, introducing iterations with different embellishments, in a wide range of designs and in a wide range of heel heights.
In 2004, the rap group Crime Mob released a song about the silhouette titled “Stilettos (Pumps)” about wearing the shoe in the club.
Jimmy Choo is known for its shoes and made its first big impression by making shoes for Princess Diana. Since then, Choo has become synonymous with luxury, glamor and celebrity in the industry. The company is now under the creative direction of Sandra Choi, a family member of founder Jimmy Choo. Choi has been with the company since its inception and has recently launched a series of high fashion collaborations with companies such as Jean Paul Gaultier.
The company is a permanent fixture on the big red carpets.
