John Fetterman says it’s ‘absurd’ to say he’s a bully

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) said Sunday that he found it “absurd” that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) labeled him a bully after his comments about a rowdy interaction in a House of Representatives. Commission.

Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Fetterman said he was only responding to the chaos when he tweeted that a House panel was worse than “The Jerry Springer Show.”

“If everyone on the committee is proud of what they have produced, they are entitled to their opinion,” he told the host Jake Tapper on Sunday.

Ocasio-Cortez took issue with Fetterman’s first tweet after Thursday’s disorderly hearing, which saw some representatives insult their colleagues.

“I understand that you probably wouldn’t have stood up for your colleague and that you seem confused about racism and misogyny because it’s a ‘both sides’ issue,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a post on X, formerly known like Twitter. “But I stand up to bullies, instead of becoming one.”

The panel met to discuss contempt proceedings against Attorney General Merrick Garland, a target of Republicans in the House of Representatives.

Instead, a fight broke out among some members.

“I think your fake eyelashes are ruining what you’re reading,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) told Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) during the hearing.
