Jordan Spieth hasn’t broken 60 in his PGA Tour career, but he has accomplished something no one else has ever done.
Spieth played alongside Cameron Young at the Travelers Championship as on Saturday Jongschot 11-under 59 around the TPC River Highlands. It’s the second time Spieth has been paired with someone who scored below 60; he was grouped with Justin Thomas when Thomas shot 59 in the opening round of the 2017 Sony Open.
According to AP’s Doug Ferguson, no other PGA Tour player has been on the front row with more than one score of 59 or better.
Still checking, but it looks like Jordan Spieth captured a piece of history today: the first player to be in the group of a 59 on the PGA Tour TWICE.

“He’s obviously a really nice guy and a good player,” Young said of Spieth. “I didn’t have his best day today, but he’s very easy to play with and it’s always fun. Anytime you play with someone like him you get quite a crowd, so I know not many of them started there before me, and by the end it was maybe half a dozen people watching me, so it was fun . I enjoy playing with that crowd and playing with a great player like Jordan.”
