The summer of 2024 is coming hot and Kehlani is bringing the heat with her. On Wednesday, the singer and songwriter announced her upcoming studio album, Crashwill be released on June 21st. The record will feature the recently released lead single ‘After Hours’.
In addition to the album title and release date, Kehlani revealed the artwork for Crash. On the cover, the singer sits atop a totally red car while wearing armor made of metal scraps. “I was so in love with this image when I photographed it in person, one of my favorite covers I’ve shot to date,” photographer Israel Riqueros shared on Instagram. “Believe me when I say this album is worth the wait and all the great visuals we expect for it.”

Kehlani started teasing Crash last month with a billboard on the main drag leading to Coachella. In the photo, Kehlani knelt close to the ground with the city skyline behind her and read, “Album coming soon.” Earlier this week, the singer shared a video of reactions from her fans reacting to the festival teaser. “Oh, I would have crashed into this billboard so fast,” one read, while another emphasized, “I would have crashed.” And they said I was crazy for calling an album and a tour ‘a thing’.
Crash marks Kehlani’s first full-length release since her third album, Blue Waterway, arrived in 2022. “Blue Water Road is a destination in my mind. I give everyone access. It’s an emotional journey, a sexual journey and a spiritual journey,” she said at the time. “For me the album is like a glass house. It is light, transparent and the sun shines right through it.” Of Crashthe glass seems broken.
