A Kenton County high school principal has been charged after police released video Thursday showing him serving alcohol to two students at his home last year.
Anthony Procaccino, 50, is accused of giving high school students alcohol from a multi-hose funnel, commonly called a beer bong, during a New Year’s Eve party last year.
“Last weekend, the Kenton County Police Department received a complaint regarding an adult male serving alcohol and drinking with teenage youth,” police said in a Facebook post. “This complaint was filed by the mother of one of the young people involved, who also provided videos of the incident.”
Procaccino was the principal of Whites Tower Elementary at the time of the video. He was hired this year as principal of Scott High School.
Police said the students in the video were 16 or 17 years old. One was a student at Scott High.
Procaccino was charged twice with aiding or assisting the consumption of alcohol by a person under 21 years of age. The violations are punishable by fines of up to $250 each time, police said.
Procaccino’s case was not listed in Kentucky’s online court records Friday morning.
On Friday morning, Jessica Dykes, a spokesperson for Kenton County Schools, confirmed that district officials are working with police. Assistant Principal Cody Wolf has been named interim principal, she said.
