Kyle police have arrested and charged a man for stalking a 13-year-old girl. Video footage showed 29-year-old Daniel Duran following the girl through the aisles of a supermarket, waiting for her outside and then chasing her as she left and ran home, according to a Thursday news release from the Kyle Police Department.
The girl’s mother called the police around 4 p.m. on December 10 to report the incident. After viewing video footage, officers were able to “quickly” locate and arrest Duran, the news release said.
“Child safety is our top priority,” Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said in a written statement. “We encourage all parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. Together we will keep the children of our community safe.”
Daniel, who was charged with stalking and resisting arrest, is being held in the Hays County Jail. Records show there is a $20,000 bond on the stalking charge and a $2,000 bond on the arrest charge.
Information about Daniel’s attorney was not immediately available.
