Detectives need help identifying the vehicle that struck and killed a 42-year-old cyclist in South Los Angeles.
The fatal accident happened on October 27 at 9:55 pm near the intersection of Normandie Avenue and 23rd Street. According to Los Angeles Police, the victim, 42-year-old Oscar Guardado, was riding his bicycle home when the vehicle struck him.
The driver fled the crash site and did not render assistance to Guardado. The Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced Guardado dead when they arrived.
A witness described the suspect’s vehicle as a black four-door sedan. After searching the area, detectives were unable to locate any other clues or video of the crash. However, the videos obtained showed that there were more witnesses to the collision.
Investigators urged witnesses or anyone with information about the case to contact Sergeant Garbiel Nily of the South Traffic Division at (323) 421-2500. The department asked anyone to contact the South Traffic Division watch commander at (323) 421-2577 after hours.

As with many hit-and-run crashes, the city is offering a $50,000 reward for any information that helps investigators identify, apprehend and convict the driver responsible for the crash.
