She referred to Scholz who visited Saarland on Saturday to assess the situation after storms and floods.
He did not announce any concrete financial support from the federal government, but spoke about solidarity.
Neubauer said it is Scholz’s job to sound the alarm. “That would not be ‘alarmism’, that would simply be responsible in 2024. People need to know how threatening the situation is so they can prepare and prevent the worst,” she said.
