Lebanon couple dies in crash, man arrested for vehicular homicide

A man was arrested on vehicular homicide and other charges after a fatal crash in Marion County left two people dead, state police say.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 15 Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision on US 68 near the intersection of Jessietown Road in Marion County on Saturday evening around 6:20 p.m.

Early investigation shows 20-year-old Erick Garcia of Lebanon was driving west on US 68 in a 2005 Dodge Ram when he crossed the center line of the roadway, according to state police. According to police, alcohol played a role in the collision.

Garcia entered the eastbound lane, veered off the roadway and steered his vehicle back into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Roy Wright, 75, of Lebanon. According to state police, Wright was driving east on US 68.

Roy White’s passenger, Deborah Wright, 72, died at the scene, according to the Marion County coroner. Roy Wright was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where he later died.
