SOMERVILLE – Halloween is just around the corner and the LEGO Discovery Center in Massachusetts is celebrating with their Brick or Treat event to get everyone ready for the spooky season.
Special Halloween events
The Lego Discovery Center in Somerville has built a monster garden and pumpkin patch for Halloween, and is inviting guests to find out how many Lego bricks it took to make their Dracula figure. Guests can also make magical potions in a giant cauldron and watch a 4D Lego movie, ‘The Great Monster Chase’.
The mini world, with Boston landmarks made from LEGO bricks, is also decked out for Halloween. The John Hancock Building is covered in spiders and creepy vines crawl along the State House. There is a werewolf and other hidden monsters in the scene. And next to the Paul Revere House is a haunted house built by Tara, an 11-year-old master model maker.

“She started the Holiday Bricktacular season by building this, putting it in our mini world, and setting the standard for all the cool builds and details we want to put here,” said master modeler Kalen Thome.
LEGO isn’t just for kids
And LEGO isn’t just for kids. The LEGO Discovery Center has many theme nights for adults, including an evening where adults can also build a number of haunted houses.
“We left the yard empty on purpose because our house is a little upset about not being decorated for Halloween yet,” Thome said. “So what our lesson is is that people come and decorate these gardens.”
Brick or Treat runs this year during Halloween at the LEGO Discovery Center.
