PARAMUS — Van Saun County Park will once again transform into a Winter Wonderland this year with an additional bumper car ice rink and a craft fair.
The Winter Wonderland events begin on Friday, November 29 and the Let it Glow! Lantern Spectacular opened on November 7.
“Van Saun County Park is once again transforming itself into North Jersey’s ultimate vacation destination, offering unforgettable experiences for families and friends,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco.
“With the stunning artistry of Let it Glow! and the expanded excitement of Winter Wonderland, including a new ice collision course and local craft village, we’re bringing something for everyone to enjoy,” said Tedesco. “We are proud to host these spectacular events and invite residents and visitors alike to join us in making these holidays in Bergen County unforgettable.”
From Saun County Park Winter Wonderland
Bergen County’s Winter Wonderland returns with outdoor ice skating, a heated catering tent, games, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, carousel rides and live music.
By popular demand, Winter Wonderland is expanding with a second ice rink for bumper cars.
For the first time, the event will include a craft market village, where local artists and businesses will sell their handmade goods.
“Van Saun County Park is the heart of Bergen County holiday celebrations, and it is exciting to see it come to life with such incredible events,” said Bergen County Commissioner Mary Amoroso. “From the vibrant lantern displays of Let it Glow! Thanks to the many new features of Winter Wonderland, we are creating a holiday experience that has something for everyone. We can’t wait to welcome families and visitors to share in the joy and magic of the season here in Bergen County.”
Winter Wonderland in Bergen County will also host Learn to Play Hockey in partnership with the New Jersey Devils. The program is designed to teach children the basics of ice hockey. On-ice sessions are conducted by USA Hockey certified coaches and New Jersey Devils alumni. Registration includes a full set of hockey equipment. The experience is sponsored by the Friends of the Bergen County Zoo in partnership with Tianyu Arts & Culture Inc. It includes dozens of hand-painted, life-size structures that celebrate culture, animals and the warmth of the holidays.
The event also features train rides and fire pits, and s’mores kits are available in the Zoo Gift Shop. Kosher s’mores kits will also be offered.
