Callaway said using fiberglass filters and replacing them every three to four weeks can keep the AC running better and save energy.

  • Turn on your fans to circulate the air.

  • Wear light clothing to stay cool.

  • Limit the use of energy-efficient appliances during peak hours.

  • Turn off the lights and unplug the appliance when you are not using it.

  • If possible, invest in smart thermostats and energy-efficient appliances.
