Licking Heights named Nonprofit of the Year by the Pataskala Area Chamber of Commerce

Licking Heights Local Schools was named the 2024 Nonprofit Organization of the Year by members of the Pataskala Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC). The district was nominated for the award by fellow chamber members, with the Pataskala Chamber Board of Directors recognizing made the final decision.

The district received the recognition for their achievements throughout the year, which primarily included:

  • The opening of three new district buildings, including Lima Ridge Elementary School, an athletic complex and a transportation center. The district also opened a new wing of the high school.

  • An overall district rating of 4.5 stars from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW), with significant gains in the Progress, Gap Closing and Early Literacy categories. Licking Heights had the second highest academic growth (Progress) in the state.

  • The award of a $2.2 million Career Technical Education Equipment Grant from ODEW to support the creation of the New Heights workforce preparation program.

  • A complete rebranding of the district with the creation of a symbolic academic identity.

  • Creation and implementation of the district’s first-ever Strategic Plan, focused on long-term sustainable district growth and student success.

  • Attend most Chamber events throughout the year and be an active, involved member.

“It is our sincere honor to be recognized by the Pataskala Chamber of Commerce as Nonprofit of the Year. Strong community involvement and partnerships between our schools and local businesses are the cornerstone of our success,” said Superintendent Dr. Kevin S Miller. “Our year of success is a collective effort between district staff, our community partners, our business partners and our students and families. We thank everyone who played a role in our success this year.”

Dr. Miller will officially accept the award on behalf of the district during the PACC Holiday Party on December 12 at the Williams Farm Venue. The district is very grateful for the recognition and support of fellow MPs.
