Lightning strikes the roof of Joliet High School, causing a fire

CHICAGO (CBS) — Lightning is blamed for a fire at a high school in Joliet.

Firefighters responded to Timber Ridge Middle School for a report of smoke and flames coming from the roof.

Officials say lightning struck the roof of the school, causing insulation to break between the shingles and the metal roof.

Crews quickly extinguished the flames before they could spread.

No one was injured.
