The annual list of newborn names is out. In a BabyCenter release for the most popular baby names, they have compiled a list of the top 100 names of 2024.
The top 10 list of names for both boys and girls was similar to 2023’s, with a few changes, according to BabyCenter. The top seven boys’ names in 2024 were exactly the same as last year, while the bottom three shifted, with Ezra rising one spot to number 8, Asher rising two places to number 9, Leo dropping two places to number 10 and Luca falling off the list.

Noah was the most popular name for boys, followed by Liam and Oliver, while Olivia was the most popular for girls, followed by Amelia and Emma, according to BabyCenter’s list. “E’ names for boys” and names ending in “-lee” or “-lyn” for girls were also popular.

What are the hottest baby name trends for 2025?
Parents can find inspiration for baby names in many places. Music, television, movies, sports, someone in their family, etc.
In keeping with their methodology, BabyCenter’s State of Baby Names initiative has been tracking and analyzing popular baby names since 2004. The hottest baby name trends of 2024 report highlights the top rising and falling names based on data from BabyCenter parents collected as of October 15, 2024. This dataset includes names of more than 500,000 babies born in 2024. In cases where two or more names in the top 500 have the same number of the cases, the connections were resolved by arranging the names alphabetically.
According to Baby Center, these are popular names that parents will likely give to their children in 2025.

According to Baby Center, Raphael, France’s No. 2 boy name in 2023, is up 121 places in the U.S. to No. 328. And Louis, France’s No. 4 boy name in 2023, is up 87 places for BabyCenter parents, so it is now No. 267.

Louise was the No. 1 girl’s name in France last year and is currently 63 places higher than No. 816 among American BabyCenter parents.

After the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar fight, the name Kendrick rose 32 spots for boys to No. 402 — while Drake fell 103 spots to No. 807.

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark’s name now ranks in more than 2,000 places for girls at No. 2,602.

Parents are inspired by the music of Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eilish. According to Baby Center, Sabrina rose 109 places for girls to number 342, and Billie rose 37 places for girls to number 842.
