Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened late Tuesday night at a Sun Valley Ralphs supermarket.
According to Los Angeles police, two men entered the store on Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Roscoe Boulevard around 11:30 p.m. Three other men followed them and began attacking them with pipe wrenches.
Police said one of the men who was attacked shot at the three attackers, who then ran from the store.
One man was taken to the hospital after first responders found him about a mile from the store and began resuscitating him. Police believe the man was one of the attackers. He died of his injuries.
A short time later, another man was found nearby suffering from gunshot wounds to the leg and was taken to hospital where he was treated and released. He is not considered a suspect, but the police are talking to the man.
Police are trying to locate everyone involved and no customers or employees were injured during the chaos at the store.
It is unclear why the first attack occurred and investigators are trying to determine if it is gang-related.
