German airline Lufthansa said on Monday that Lufthansa Group airlines will temporarily suspend night flights to and from Beirut due to the worsening conflict between Lebanon’s pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia and the Israeli army.
“Due to current developments in the Middle East, the Lufthansa Group airlines will suspend their night flights to and from Beirut (Lebanon) from June 29 to July 31,” the group said in response to a query from dpa.
Day flights to and from Beirut would continue to be offered unchanged, the report said.
The Foreign Ministry in Berlin has been warning Germans for some time against traveling to Lebanon because of the current conflict with Israel.
German citizens are urgently requested to leave the country.
“A further deterioration of the situation and expansion of the conflict cannot be ruled out,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
