Maddow Blog | The jury finds Donald Trump guilty on all counts in the hush money trial

During his relatively short political career, Donald Trump has achieved an astonishing number of firsts. For example, the Republican is the first president to be impeached twice. He is also the first candidate to ever win the presidency despite never having served the public in any capacity.

Trump is the first former president to be held liable for sexual abuse. He was the first president caught overseeing a fraudulent charity. And a fraudulent university. And a company that was found to have repeatedly committed fraud.

In 2021, Trump became the first president to deny his successor a peaceful transfer of power after his defeat. He was also the first president to try to hold on to power in defiance of electoral voters.

Last year, Trump became the first former president to be indicted on criminal charges, shortly thereafter becoming the first former president to also be indicted on federal prosecution.

The presumptive Republican Party nominee can now add another first to the list: Trump is the first former president to be found guilty of multiple crimes. My MSNBC colleague Jordan Rubin explained:

An NBC News report confirmed that Judge Juan Merchan ordered a sentencing hearing to begin at 10 a.m. on July 11. The Republican National Convention was scheduled to begin on July 15.
