Magnitude 3.5 earthquake hits near San Jose; Two smaller ones strike near Orinda, Antioch

The Bay Area experienced several earthquakes on Sunday morning, with the largest earthquake occurring in San Jose.

According to the United States Geological Survey, there were earthquakes in Orinda, San Jose and Antioch.

The first earthquake occurred at 1:30 a.m., two miles northwest of Orinda. The USGS recorded the earthquake as having a magnitude of 2.5.

The second earthquake struck about 5 miles (8 kilometers) northeast of San Jose in Alum Rock and had a magnitude of 3.4. It happened at 3:35 am

The third earthquake occurred about 4 miles southwest of Antioch. The USGS said it was a magnitude 2.5 earthquake.

No injuries have been reported.
