A magnitude 3.9 earthquake was reported near Lake Elsinore on Thursday morning, according to the US Geological Survey.

The quake was reported at 9:39 a.m. about 3.7 miles from the city in Riverside County, USGS reports. It follows a series of recent earthquakes in the Southern California region, including a Earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale last week that sent shockwaves through Los Angeles, Kern and Ventura counties, which were followed by more than 400 earthquakes within a 10-mile radius of the earthquake’s epicenter over the next two days.
