A 33-year-old man was arrested Saturday in Florida in connection with a double homicide in August in Frederick County.
Frederick County sheriff’s deputies responded around 7 a.m. Aug. 25 to the 7000 Block of Mandalong Court in New Market and found Crimea Baker, 33, and Sean Lange, 34, dead and shot multiple times, the sheriff’s office said. Preliminary investigation indicated the victims were shot around 1:30 a.m., Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins said. Police found four of Baker’s children unharmed in the home, the sheriff’s office said. Lange is the father of one of her children and the victims lived together, the office said.
“In anxiously awaiting closure and the arrest of the person responsible, the public has been extremely patient and can now have complete confidence that this was a targeted domestic homicide,” Jenkins said in a news release.
On Saturday around 6:20 p.m., Fort Lauderdale police officers and FBI agents arrested a 33-year-old Miami man on a warrant issued the day of the murders.
The suspect is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and residential burglary and is being held in a Florida jail pending extradition to Maryland, according to the sheriff’s office.
