Man accused of pushing victim to death in Ruskin

RUSKIN – A man was arrested and charged with murder Saturday evening following an altercation near the 500 block of Bahia Beach Boulevard.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the fight started between Kamal Padlowski, 50, and another adult man on a boat. When the man left the boat, Padlowski followed the victim onto the dock and pushed him, officers said. The victim fell and hit his head. Padlowski then pushed him back into the water, according to the agency.

Hillsborough court records show Padlowski has an address on Lake Magdalena and he is charged with a first-degree felony, which carries a penalty of up to life in prison.

Officers responded to a tip about a possible shooting following an altercation shortly after 6:30 p.m. But when they arrived, they couldn’t find any sign of a shooting. Based on a statement from a witness, authorities called in their dive team and recovered a body from the water.

The agency declined to release further information about the victim before notifying his next of kin.
