Man Arrested in Vermont for Fatal Stabbing in Rochester

A Vermont man was arrested for stabbing an acquaintance to death in southwest Rochester last month.

James Fredrick, 26, of Rochester was arrested Monday in Stowe, Vermont in connection with the Aug. 31 fatal stabbing of Kevin Henry at Henry’s Bartlett St. home, Rochester Police Capt. Greg Bello said. The two men knew each other, he said. The stabbing, Bello said, allegedly occurred after an argument.

Henry, 52, was stabbed at least once in the torso and ran from the home. He was found lying in the street, Rochester police said. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Fredrick, who police say fled to Vermont after the killing, is being held on a warrant for second-degree murder, a felony, in connection with Henry’s death. He remains in custody in Vermont, Bello said. Authorities expect him to be extradited to Rochester in the coming weeks.

Stowe, Vermont, police assisted Rochester police in making the arrest, Bello said.
