A man has been arrested and charged with arson in connection with a fire at a Boston pub.

Officers arrested Prasiddha Baruwal, 23, of Everett on Saturday. He is charged with arson, burglary at night with intent to commit a crime and malicious destruction of property.

According to the Boston Fire Department, firefighters responding to a report of a fire at the Squealing Pig Pub at 134 Smith Street in the Mission Hill neighborhood around midnight found massive flames shooting through the building.

The fire was under control shortly before 1 a.m. and firefighters worked all night to extinguish the charred, burnt-out building.

According to Boston Deputy Fire Chief Michael Hocking, no injuries were reported.

Video shared with Boston 25 showed a man inside the pub at the time of the fire.

“I saw a gentleman in there who wasn’t 100 percent sure what he was doing, and then I saw a table on fire,” said Jeweli Rhodes, who saw the fire.
