Man charged with double murder at Harrington Circle home in Willingboro

WILLINGBORO – Police say a man who broke into a home here killed the mother and grandmother of his son, an 8-year-old who survived the pre-dawn attack.

Junior Edwards, 37, of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, is accused of killing Catherine Nunez, 33, and Marisol Nunez, 54, at a Harrington Circle home on Oct. 30, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Edwards and Catherine Nunez were the parents of the boy who was in the home during the shootings, the prosecutor’s office said Saturday.

Marisol Nunez was the boy’s maternal grandmother.

Edwards allegedly broke a first-floor window to enter the home around 4 a.m. and then fatally shot the women in an upstairs bedroom, the prosecutor’s office said.

Police found the victims’ bodies after responding to a call about an apparent burglary.

The suspected murder weapon was found outside the home in the Hawthorne Park neighborhood.

Edwards was charged while in custody in Philadelphia on unrelated charges, the prosecutor’s office said.

He is also charged with burglary of a home with a firearm, endangering the welfare of a child, and weapons offenses.

The accusations are just accusations. Edwards has not been convicted in the case.
