According to a hearing Thursday before Snell in U.S. District Court in downtown Dayton, Snell is charged with production of child pornography, coercion and enticement with respect to child pornography and receipt of child pornography.

“Snell has held positions of public trust and HSI is seeking to identify any additional victims/survivors,” an anonymous spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations Michigan and Ohio said in a prepared statement released Thursday afternoon.

Mini University, Inc. posted on social media that Snell was briefly employed at their Hope Center branch at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

The report states that Snell was immediately fired from the daycare after they were notified of his arrest.

“I want to assure you that Mini University followed all proper protocols in screening Mr. Snell, which included obtaining state approval that he was eligible for employment. This information was based on his BCII/FBI fingerprints and background check, which were completed and on file prior to his hire. Our internal investigation did not reveal any illegal activity by Mr. Snell or any employee,” wrote Kim Frisez, vice president of human resources.

Federal prosecutors asked the court to keep Snell in jail for his trial. A pretrial detention is scheduled for Sept. 4, with a preliminary hearing set for Sept. 10.
