Man seriously injured in crash involving Lakeville police officer

LAKEVILLE, Minn. – A 31-year-old St. Paul man was seriously injured in a crash involving a Lakeville police cruiser Thursday evening.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the driver of a Toyota Corolla turned in front of the police SUV on Cedar Avenue at 205th Street West around 10:30 p.m.

The three passengers of the Corolla were injured. One was not wearing his seat belt and was hospitalized.

The officer was not injured. Police say he was “responding to a call for help at the time and therefore did not activate any lights or sirens.”

The State Patrol is investigating.
