A man shot by local police earlier this week in response to a domestic dispute has died.
In an update released Friday by the Pierce County Force Investigation team, the man, who was hospitalized, succumbed to his injuries on Friday.
Pierce County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for a domestic dispute involving family members at 4800 33rd Ave. on the evening of June 18. Ct. E., in Tacoma. After law enforcement responded to the mobile home park, officers reported that “shots were fired and an adult male was struck,” according to Friday’s update. Medical assistance was provided on site by emergency services until emergency responders arrived for transport.
The Pierce County Force Investigation Team, which consists of members from various Pierce County law enforcement agencies, was called in to conduct an independent investigation. The deputies involved are on administrative leave per department policy.
