A man who was shot by police in East San Jose on Sunday afternoon According to authorities, the situation remained the same on Monday.

The shooting happened in the 2700 block of Kollmar Drive, near Story Road and Capitol Expressway, after officers responded to reports of a man firing a gun around 4 p.m.

The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but no officers were hit by gunfire, police said. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

The suspect shot in the incident has not yet been identified.

Police have not provided any information other than the man’s condition, but a news conference to discuss the shooting is scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday at police headquarters, 201 W. Mission St. in San Jose. It is expected that more details about the incident will be released at that time.
