SARTELL, Minnesota — A A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in “tab money” from a gas station in central Minnesota, police said.

The robbery took place Sunday morning at a BP at First Street Northeast and Benton Drive in Sartell, city police said.

The suspect pulled a knife on store staff and demanded money.

Police used surveillance footage to identify the suspect, who had been at the store the day before. Sauk Rapids police found the man buying pull tabs at a convenience store in that city and arrested him.

The 57-year-old man is being held in Benton County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Sartell is located just north of St. Cloud.
