A man was struck and killed in a crash in Midland Park Friday evening, authorities said.
Midland Park police responded to Godwin Avenue at the intersection of Witte Drive around 7:10 p.m. Friday and found an adult male pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle, said Jeff Angermeyer, deputy chief of detectives for the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
The man was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson with serious injuries and later died, he said.
The man’s identity is being withheld “pending notification of next of kin,” Angermeyer said.
The vehicle involved in the incident escaped unhurt.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Midland Park Police Department are conducting the investigation.
