The Islamic State supporter plotting an attack on the Israeli embassy in Berlin is a Libyan whose asylum application has been rejected, DPA has learned.
According to a report in the mass newspaper Bild, the man entered Germany in November 2022 and applied for asylum in January the following year. This was rejected eight months later and the man did not appeal the ruling.
Although there is no blanket block on deportations from Germany to Libya, enforcing deportations is difficult due to a lack of functioning state structures in the North African country.
