Brandon Wheat Kings forward Marcus Nguyen has committed to Nebraska Omaha, it was announced on social media earlier this week.
Nguyen, a product of Calgary, Alta., is in the middle of his overseason with the Wheat Kings, with 15 goals and 16 assists for 31 points in 29 games.
Nguyen was drafted by the Portland Winterhawks in the 11th round of the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft and spent parts of four seasons with the team before moving to Brandon this offseason. Through 245 career regular season games, he has collected 85 goals and 90 assists for 175 points.
With Nguyen joining the Mavericks in 2025, they get an experienced forward who plays with the puck on his stick. Whether it’s creating chances for himself or finding teammates in high-danger areas, Nguyen has the necessary skills to make a smooth transition.
