WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene said on Thursday she will chair a U.S. House of Representatives panel on government efficiency, working with billionaire Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy in their efforts to overhaul the U.S. government. streamline.

Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and Ramaswamy, a former Republican presidential candidate and biotech executive, were tasked by newly elected President Donald Trump to set up a panel of outside advisers to make recommendations on how to scale up the reduce federal workforce and slash regulations.

Greene’s subcommittee on government efficiency was created by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer to work with Musk and Ramaswamy.

Trump, Musk and Ramaswamy have made ambitious claims about the panel’s ability to transform the US government and the effort has received widespread publicity and interest in how it will operate.

But details are scarce. On Wednesday, Musk and Ramaswamy wrote an op-ed saying they will use recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings to take power away from federal agencies and reduce regulations.

Trump has said the two will issue reports, and the new panel said it wants to hire “high IQ” staff and hold weekly livestreams.
