When Juan Soto decided to take his talents from the Bronx to Queens and join the New York Mets, it forced Brian Cashman to reevaluate his offseason plans. With many wondering where the New York Yankees would go post-Soto, we got our first glimpse late Tuesday.
Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman talk about Cashman and crew signing former Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried to an eight-year contract worth $218 million. By strengthening the rotation, the Yankees are now looking to spread the wealth that would be used primarily on Soto and bolster other needs of the team. However, following this move, the Boston Red Sox counter-punched by acquiring Chicago White Sox ace Garrett Crochet in a trade on Wednesday.
Also in this episode of the Baseball Bar-B-Castthe boys look at the Texas Rangers’ moves, including re-signing starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi and trading for Jake Burger from the Miami Marlins to help their roster in hopes of better success in 2024. Jake and Jordan then give a update on the Scott Boras Offseason Scoreboard after his press conferences at the Winter Meetings and in Vlissingen before making their selection this week The good, the bad and the Uggla.
