Mazda vs Subaru Road Rage Crash is an instant karma classic

Patience is a virtue. We all know that, but we are also guilty of not practicing it. Our inability to remain calm is exacerbated when we are in a hurry. What can we say? People are fallible. However, that’s no excuse for road rage, especially when it comes to a crash and possible injuries. Thanks to a dashcam recording a truck, we see the hand of karma on full display regarding the consequences of vehicular chaos. A member of the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook group posted video footage of an afternoon affair between a Mazda 3 hatchback and a Subaru Outback estate. When and how they met is unknown. What is clear is the unfriendliness of the encounter, which leads to a literal mashup. The pair are driving in the far right, or slow lane, of a three-lane highway. Through the truck’s right camera, which shows the indicated speed as 101 km/h (63 mph), we see the Subaru accelerating as if it intends to overtake the truck on the right. The Mazda follows suit, but the Subie slams on the brakes. At first it’s a gentle tap, as if it’s a warning. Except the Subie driver slams on the brakes almost immediately afterwards. The Mazda driver narrowly avoids the blow to the rear bumper. As if that wasn’t disturbing enough, the dance continues further down the road with disastrous consequences. The entire incident is captured in its entirety by the dashcam on the front of the transporter. After the near collision, the Subaru moves forward and passes the truck, but remains in the slow lane. However, there is just enough room for the Mazda 3 to also pass the truck and change lanes. Wanting to change lanes is a good idea. Staying behind the Subaru while trying to do that was the wrong decision. Facebook / Dash Cam Owners Australia CHECK THE BRAKES. The Mazda again avoids a collision with the Subaru, but swerves with too much force and drives down the highway into lane number one, where a Land Rover is driving. Kudos to the Mazda driver for not hitting the sitting Rover, but his or her overcorrection causes the vehicle to lurch back to the other side of the road. Avoiding the guardrail along the roadside is a success, but avoiding the transporter who captured the entire scene is not. The driver’s side of the Mazda hits the right side of the truck. If only the video footage had stopped there. Unfortunately, the Mazda bounces over the front of the transporter and into the path of another transporter, which was speeding past on the left shoulder. It seems their rush to get past the chaos has only created more chaos. The Mazda ends up in a 540-degree whirlwind before coming to a stop nose first into a guardrail. Time passed? Forty-one seconds. The Mazda driver was able to get out of his vehicle, but it is unknown if there were any injuries or passengers. At that point the Subaru was far out of view. The debate over who was the instigator continues. Yes, the Subaru caused the crash, but why? Is the Mazda trailing too much? Was the Subaru looking for a quick insurance fraud payout? But to do that, the Mazda had to crash into the Subie. According to the original poster, the truck is part of a fleet of transport vehicles operated by Brisbane-based Team Transport & Logistics, and police are investigating the incident.
