Melbourne woman, 22, killed in early morning crash on I-95 near Palm Bay Road

Interstate 95 in Palm Bay remains partially blocked as Florida Highway Patrol troopers investigate a crash that killed a 22-year-old woman near the Palm Bay Road exit.

The fatal crash happened around 4:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Palm Bay Road.

Officers said a 2011 Mazda 3 left the highway, struck a nearby guardrail and overturned. The unknown driver was thrown from the car when it rolled over. The driver, from Melbourne, was taken to Holmes Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

An investigation is underway.
