Philanthropist Melinda French Gates encourages women to make their voices heard at the ballot box, underscoring the importance of turnout in determining the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.
“Women showed up at the midterm elections and said, ‘This is enough.’ And we have to do it again,” French Gates told CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King in an exclusive interview that aired on Tuesday, June 18.
When asked if she plans to campaign or support a particular candidate, French Gates replied, “More than likely.”
French gates said she has voted for both Republican and Democratic candidates in the past, but she said she cannot support a candidate who she believes undermines women’s reproductive rights and speaks offensively about women.
“I am absolutely not voting for Trump, and I will vote for Biden,” French Gates said.
