PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – While 2024 was full of wet weekends, Memorial Day Weekend will be mostly sunny, clear and warm on the weather side, although Memorial Day itself will bring some gusty winds and possibly severe storms for the Philadelphia region and the Jersey Shore.
Skies will be mostly clear across the region Friday morning for a drive up the coast or to your favorite beach in Delaware. Wherever there is persistent cloud, it will become sunny later.

There is a period of rainy weather southwest of Philadelphia that may briefly cover the Delaware and Jersey Shore beaches around 11 a.m. or noon. If you plan to take the Cape May-Lewes ferry, you may also see some of this rain.
As we enter the 1 p.m., there is still a lingering chance of a storm over places like Atlantic City or Long Beach Island. By 4pm these small disturbances disappear and we are left with clear skies.
After that, a series of warm, sunny and slightly humid days lie ahead. We expect a high of 85 degrees in Philadelphia and not much cooler in the Lehigh Valley. But it will be as much as 10 degrees cooler on the coast, with an expected high of 75 degrees.
Humidity will drop after the pre-rush showers dissipate, giving us a pleasant Friday evening along the coast and along the Delaware coast. Humidity will gradually rise through the remainder of the weekend, reaching the balmy range by Sunday morning.
But in between there is plenty of sun for beachgoers to enjoy, especially on Saturdays and Sundays.
Then there will be showers and storms on Monday.
