– Third baseman Mark Vientos and left fielder Brandon Nimmowho started New York’s rally on Saturday with their consecutive RBI singles in the eighth inning as the Mets took a 2-1 lead and didn’t look back, producing a combined 4-for-8 effort with three RBI, two runs and one walk walk .
– On the hill, New York turns to the right Luis Severinowho is 2-4 with a 5.07 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 12 postseason games (11 starts) across the Yankees (2017-22) and Mets (2024). In last Tuesday’s 8-4 Wild Card Series Game 1 win at the Brewers, Severino threw 68 strikes on 105 pitches while scattering four runs (three earned) and five hits with three strikeouts to three walks (two walks, one hit batter).
