Like the Mets and Yankees, the Blue Jays remain focused on the Juan Soto sweepstakes, but they’re also keeping an eye on other targets in case the superstar outfielder ends up elsewhere.
On the pitching front, Toronto is among the teams showing interest in the former Mets right-hander Luis Severinosaid Ben Nicholsen-Smith of Sportsnet.
Severino turned down New York’s qualifying offer last week in hopes of earning a multi-year pact on the open market.
The veteran has had a strong year, staying healthy and posting a 3.91 ERA in 31 games.
