Michigan Education Trust is offering a Black Friday deal to build college savings

This holiday season, the Michigan Education Trust is offering shoppers a Black Friday deal to help build college savings.

From Nov. 29 through Dec. 2, the Michigan Education Trust, Michigan’s 529 prepaid tuition savings program, is offering a $50 bonus to new and existing customers, according to a Monday news release.

“As tuition prices rise, MET is a smart, practical gift for your family’s future and one that will last a lifetime,” said Diane Brewer, executive director of the Michigan Education Trust, in the news release.

The Michigan Education Trust offers buyers the opportunity to purchase college credits at current prices.

According to the press release, new customers for the Black Friday promotion can open a new Pay-As-You-Go MET account using the coupon code BLKFRI24 and make an initial credit hour payment to receive the bonus. Existing customers, the release said, can claim the bonus by contributing $200 or more to an existing Pay-As-You-Go MET account during the promotional period.

“Black Friday is all about finding deals, and not just on electronics and new clothes. Education is a gift that never goes out of style, and this is a bargain you won’t want to miss,” Brewer said in the press release.
