A 43-year-old woman, Erika R. Todd of Erie, was fatally struck by a moving car while walking along Smith Road in Bedford Township. After being hit once, Todd was hit twice more by two other vehicles late Saturday night.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Todd was walking east on Smith Road near Telegraph Road in dark clothing. As she walked along the shoulder, she was the first to be hit in a collision. Police have not identified the driver of the first vehicle and the make and model are unknown. The vehicle fled the scene.
After being hit once, Todd was in the eastbound lane and was hit again by a 65-year-old woman in a Honda Accord, and again by a 19-year-old woman in a Nissan Sentra. Both drivers stopped and were identified and released by police.

Todd was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has asked the public for help in locating the first vehicle that struck Todd.
