MINNEAPOLIS— A mild holiday week starts on Monday with some chances of precipitation.

Highs will be just below freezing early in the week, with freezing drizzle, freezing rain and snow possible in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Then dry conditions take over for a few days.

Christmas Eve will be mostly cloudy with above average highs. Conditions look good for those going on vacation. Christmas Day will be about the same, but a few degrees warmer.

Occasionally, compact systems may cause light precipitation later in the week.

Temperatures are likely to remain above freezing throughout the new year.

Will we have a white Christmas?

Snow cover on the ground is expected to last until Christmas Day, but will taper off shortly afterwards due to mild conditions and rain – unless something changes and we get another round of snow.
