MINNEAPOLIS Monday will be another mild, cloudy day in the Twin Cities with highs in the low 30s.
A cold front is expected to move through Monday afternoon, bringing a light rain/snow mix to parts of central Minnesota and western Wisconsin, with minor accumulations. Snow may also fall in parts of Northern Minnesota.
Seasonal temperatures return Tuesday with a fast-moving system bringing light snow (0.5-1 inch) to southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Snow may fall during the evening commute, creating slippery conditions. Overnight lows will drop into the single digits and teens. It will be about 5 degrees cooler in the metro.
Wednesday will be cooler yet calm, with daytime highs below average. A northwesterly current keeps us on the cold side. The wind will also be blowing, so the wind chill may be a bit rough and heavy.
A stronger system is expected to move through Thursday and could bring more snow to central Minnesota. Following that system will make a difference in how much snow will fall, but the Twin Cities could see 2 to 4 inches. There is a possible NEXT weather warning on Thursday.
A strong northwesterly flow will bring much colder temperatures through the end of the week, with highs in the teens and lows near zero through the weekend.
