MINNEAPOLIS— Minneapolis has been ranked as the best city for recent college graduates, according to a new study that took into account income, rent and social opportunities in cities across the country.
According to Zumper’s new report, Minneapolis received top marks for low unemployment rate and number of restaurants per capita.
It was also rated in the top third in all categories Zumper analyzed, including the number of young people in the city, the population of people with bachelor’s degrees and the individual population.
“The Twin Cities are an attractive location for emerging leaders to enter the workforce while keeping the cost of living low,” Zumper wrote.
Minneapolis outperformed Denver and Seattle, which suffered because their average rent for a one-bedroom apartment was so high. Other best cities for recent college graduates included Columbus, San Francisco, Phoenix and Raleigh.
Cities that received the lowest rankings were Boise, Newark, Providence, Augusta and Laredo.
Minneapolis was also recently named the happiest city in the United Statesin a study of metropolitan areas around the world.
