MINNEAPOLIS — A Minneapolis man has been sentenced to five years in prison detonate a bomb in a hair salon, more than two years ago.
Michael Francisco pleaded guilty in July to one count of malicious use of explosives to damage and destroy a Minneapolis-based premises engaged in interstate commerce.
Court documents show that in the early hours of November 20, 2022, Francisco planted an explosive device that went off at Studio 411 in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis, damaging the exterior and interior of the business.
Nearly a year later, the indictment shows that Francisco was captured on video throwing a rock through the saloon window before fleeing the scene.
Investigators say they used DNA to link Francisco to both incidents.
After his prison sentence, Francisco will be supervised for three years. He must also pay nearly $173,000 in restitution.
