MINNEAPOLIS Minneapolis police are searching for the driver of a car that rolled over early Friday morning on the city’s north side, killing one person and injuring another.
Minneapolis police say officers responded shortly before 4 a.m. to reports of a single-vehicle crash on the 3200 block of Girard Avenue North.
Upon arrival, officers found a white Ford Taurus flipped over and two injured men believed to be passengers in the vehicle.
According to police, one of the men was lying on the ground next to the vehicle with apparently life-threatening injuries. Despite medical assistance, the man died on the spot. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as 19-year-old Demarion Deshaun Wade.
The second man was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
Police say preliminary information indicates the Ford was traveling westbound on Lowry Avenue North when it struck a parked vehicle, causing it to roll over. Investigators believe the driver fled before officers arrived.
No arrests have been made and the crash remains under investigation.
